#Stretch Your Neck

Today’s Challenge: Stretch your neck.
After long hours at the computer or the stress of daily life, give your neck a treat and stretch.

I woke up early this morning and tried to go back to sleep. After tossing and turning for about fifteen minutes, I grabbed my cell phone to check messages and emails. To my surprise, I learned that my last novel, Traveling for Love: Searching for Self, Hoping for Love, was a finalist in the Beverly Hills Book Awards. Yay! I think I’ll be happy for awhile… maybe the rest of the year! 🙂

Imagine Everybody You Meet is a #Family Member
Today’s Challenge: Imagine everybody you meet is a family member.
I know some people aren’t close with their family, but I’m one of the lucky ones who LOVES my relatives like crazy. I’m not perfect, they’re not perfect, but around these people, I can be myself and they can be who they are. I feel the same way about my friends, they are family, too.
Sometimes I get caught up in my own world, in my own busy life, and I don’t want to connect with others; I don’t want to put in the effort. 😦 So I decided to imagine that these strangers are my family, no need for awkward small talk. I already know these people and they already know me.
For an introvert, this is not always easy, but this little trick of the mind has opened up my world and I’m loving it! And truthfully, aren’t we all family… aren’t we all so very much connected anyway… 🙂
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND… AND HAVE FUN WITH YOUR HUGE FAMILY!

When You Complete a Task, #CELEBRATE!
Today’s Challenge: When you complete a task, CELEBRATE!
Finally, after several rewrites, I finished my manuscript. Yay! Yesterday, after handing the book over to my publisher, I felt a little off–not happy, not sad, just different. So I’ve decided that I should celebrate. Typically, I’d run errands, catch up on neglected projects or start my next book, but today I’m going to do something good for me. Maybe a massage… Maybe an outing with friends… Maybe a trip to an art gallery… All I know for sure is that I’m going to get out of my office! I’m excited! 🙂
How do you celebrate after you achieve a goal?
