Adventuring and Car Camping around Colorado Springs

I spent a few days adventuring around Colorado Springs and in the mountains.

I did something I said I’d never do – Royal Gorge Bridge.
I was almost taken out by a goat – Bishop Castle.
I ate in a plane – The Airplane Restaurant.
I checked out the Manitou Cliff Dwellings.
And I ended up stealth camping in a hotel parking lot.

Wonderful few days…

VAN TOUR of my No Build, Camping and Traveling Minivan…

While I was camping at Horsetooth Reservoir in Colorado, I decided to do a van tour of my very simple, no build minivan.
After a year and a half of traveling in my van, sightseeing, road trips, camping (sometimes stealth), exploring, hiking, roadside attractions, minivan fitness…
I am still crazy in love with my simple minivan!

Enjoy the tour. 🙂

Winter Camping at a Colorado Reservoir

Coldest night yet while winter camping at Horsetooth Reservoir in Colorado.

I cooked a hot meal in my van for the first time, did some hiking/walking and exploring to get my 10,000 steps, lost my solar lights, and made a snow angel. All in all, it was a wonderful, needed trip.

I’m traveling back to Colorado trying to outrun the freezing temperatures and sometimes bad road conditions. I did some winter car camping and sightseeing in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Nebraska, exploring more of the great United States.

While sightseeing on my road trip home, I visited Thorncrown Chapel, did some hiking by Lake Leatherwood, saw the world’s largest praying hands, and did some other “failed” exploring… Not really a failure, because I always enjoy the journey traveling in my van.

Made it to Florida… Left Florida.

The hurricanes chased me away.

I’m headed back to Colorado. First night camp site with Key Lime Pie and lots of trees. I’m looking forward to my hike tomorrow.

🙏 Victims of these hurricanes.

Video: One Year of Traveling in the Van

27. One Year of Traveling in my Van #travelvideos #solotravel #introverttravel

It’s been one year of this introvert, homebody traveling in my van, road trips, camping, hiking, fitness, sightseeing, roadside attractions, and exploring… AND trying to catch it all on video.
I’ve learned a lot, done a lot, seen a lot… and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Traveling artist… on solo road trip to move abstract painting to its new home.
One overnight stay in my camper van at Harvest Host, Anchor Meadow Farm with the KuneKune pigs in Nebraska. And a roadside attraction, Danish Windmill in Iowa.
There is nothing better than exploring and sightseeing in the midwest… all in the comfort of my Pacifica minivan!
