Hiking and exploring Volcano Capulin in New Mexico and I’m trying to get back on track with fitness–10K steps by sundown… stopping a few other places on my road trip to Florida.
In this solo road trip vlog, I explore Horseshoe Bend & Four corners, but it was Monument Valley where I found the solitude I was searching for.
I did some car camping in my no build minivan camper, hiked the Toadstool Hoodoos, and tried to stay warm at night. My favorite part was solo hiking the Wildcat Trail in Monument Valley with wild horses and the desire to get lost.
If you enjoy solo travel, van life, or just the idea of doing life your own way, you’ll probably feel at home here.
✦ My Van Life Lesson: When things are not working out, keep pushing. Keep going.
My introvert nature was on full alert in Page, Arizona. I avoided crowds and skipped Horseshoe Bend, but I did hike Hanging Garden Trail and a couple other incredible places. Tackling the fear of the unknown… with every new adventure. I loved camping and exploring this BEAUTIFUL part of the United States.
What pulled me into Sedona? I spent a few days in Sedona, and I hope I’m never the same. I did some body work, breath work, hiking, and talking with a group of wonderful people who wanted to help me. I was ready for this adventure without realizing it. SO INCREDIBLY THANKFUL!
As I head West through Arizona, I’m making life changes. I hike through Petrified Forest National Park and work on my 10K steps, drive through the Wigwam Motel, stand on the corner in Winslow, Arizona, and check out the Meteor Crater all before I make my way to Sedona for a few days of car camping, hiking, and getting some help with sleep.
After a night drive in the mountains, I made it to camp… a yurt. Things didn’t go as planned. I was afraid but made the most of it. I’ve been sorting things out, life changes… I’m not sure if it’s a midlife crisis, but I’m still loving every second that I’m out on the road traveling America in my van.
Road Tripping New Mexico, had dinner with a friend, then some driveway car camping… what can I say, I love my van! I made it to White Sands National Park for some hiking, before making my way to where I was planning to stay for the night. To be continued… Not a lot to say on this one… quiet mood, soul searching… this is the start of a new chapter…
